Modern Irish Castle designed by Fergus Flanagan Architects in 2014. The site is just outside Inistioge in County Kilkenny.

Not your typical house! The brief for this impressive house was to create a Modern Irish Castle. The house is located on a large steeply sloping south facing site overlooking the River Nore and Woodstock Estate just outside Inistioge, Co.Kilkenny. The house is designed to be a bright ultra modern contemporary house which is shielded by the stone wall to the north. Taking reference from a castle where the primary function was defence this wall offers privacy to the occupants and also reduces heat loss on the north face of the house due to the narrow slit windows. Our client also wanted a car garage to display his collection of sports cars and two guest pods which are separated from the main house.
