ABOUT:

As if modelled by the winds, the form mimics the duality between the rough and smooth sides of the sand dunes.

This project involved the construction of a new house in Curracloe, County Wexford. The site is only 100 meters from the beach and has an existing protected thatched cottage. The concept is form responsive fusing together traditional ideals with contemporary house design, a cubist form placed in a coastal setting. In translating the language of the existing listed cottage there was a need to work with pure forms, with particular importance on simplicity, durability and expression.
